Craig reciently went to fly kites for the school camp of one of the local junior schools, and to give the kids a talk on soft kites. Huge excitement with a very strong southerly lifting the front of Craigs van clear of the springs. Eventually the 8 mt pilot, after making a bid for freedom and landing a kilometer away on the local taverns (drinking establishments) roof, just short of the main highway, made the day just a little more exciting.
You should have seen the inn keepers face when Craig asked him if he could climb on to the roof to recover the kite. The street was filled with a crowd of slightly inibrated patrons touting advise and encouragement. All said and done, the kids had a ball guessing what was going to come out of the bag next to go up the line.
